About this app

Speed a card game also known as Spit or Slam, is very fast-paced matching multiplayer card game and it could result in damage to the cards -- so play this on your device and don't ruin your actual playing cards. Spit and Slam are variations of Speed.

Speed supports online multiplayer mode over the internet. Test your speed skills against other players.

Controls: Tap or Drag the cards

Objective: To play all your cards first.

How to Play:

-Each player is dealt five cards to form a hand, and each player is dealt 15 cards face down to form a draw pile. If you are playing with jokers, you use them as wild cards and give each draw pile 16 cards. A stack of five cards, placed face down on each side between the players, serves as a replacement pile. Finally, two cards are placed face down in the center between the replacement piles.

-You may play a card in your hand by discarding it in the "Play Pile" if the card is 1 number/value higher or lower it is a match. (e.g. 5 can be played on a 6 or 4, a Queen can be played on a King or Jack)

-A 2 may be played on an Ace and a Ace may be played on a 2.

-You may have up to 5 cards in your hand at a single time. When you have less than 5 cards in your hand you may draw from your "Draw Pile"

-First player to play all of his/her cards wins!

This is a super fun game with cool goals. It's neat to progress through difficulty modes and realize eventually that Impossible mode is actually possible. The achievements give the game more staying power. I play Speed several times a day and am never without something fun to do when I have to wait for something. When I get a new phone or tablet, I start anew and go for the goals. I love playing the online games too. ETA: I now play on Facebook as well, though mouse play is awkward and hurts.

I love how fast it can get - it's the perfect speed for my brain - but on some of the faster levels I don't get the chance to even look at the cards before the game starts since the ai opponent starts going before the screen even loads in. I've done a lot on this game even though I downloaded it only a couple of days ago, but to go from slow opponents that make my time longer than need be to opponents that start before the game even loads is. Astonishing, for lack of a better word.

I love playing Speed, but there are a few points where the game simply freezes, not letting me know if it is loading or not. I have a bigger issue though: when you're playing the harder levels, the CPU goes as soon as you start the game. I know, these modes are SUPPOSED to be fast, but it's also frustrating to play against them because the CPU knows what cards are already there and I don't get a chance to analyze the deck and know what I CAN play before I start, despite the CPU being allowed to.

Best speed app I've played so far, but the fact that you don't get a second before the game starts when you select the level is definitely a downside. So, if you opt for a higher level, the computer basically gets a head start before you even get to assess your hand. Playing online is also very glitchy. Improving those would be a big help for overall satisfaction.

Cons: Stats don't track Insane Monkey, although IM level games are included in the overall stats. None of the Streak achievements work. Online play, although fun, is a mess. It's easy for someone to play, like, a King on top of a 2 if the 2 and King are played on an Ace at roughly the same time. That is super annoying. Pros: Fun, lots of achievements, always someone online, and there are several different game styles.

Offline is great but Online needs some work. I seem to have a lot of the same issues as other users. I LOVE this game and I often win on the Ultra Cheetah level, sometimes on Impossible. The only annoying thing on those levels of that the computer starts laying cards before I've even had a chance to see mine. I recently started playing online and it seems like people can cheat, laying same cards down on top of others and also laying a bunch of cards down at once. That makes online play not fun.
