About this app
Cribbage Classic has a number of settings that can help you to learn the best move for your situation and offer assistance if it notices that you are making a sub-optimal play. Or just play in fast mode where all counting is done for you and you get to simply focus on discarding and pegging. By tweaking the settings you can take this app anywhere from a lazy-thoughtless-time-waster game to a skill-sharpening-master-tutorial helping you to crush your next opponent. Statistics are also kept so you can see your average pegging score, your average hand score, and your average crib score! Also shows you a summary of all of the sub-optimal plays you made at the end of the game and tracks your error rate over time so you can see yourself improving.
Cribbage Classic also has a "Discard Analyzer" bonus feature that can help you decide on the optimal discard to play given a particular cribbage hand. Analyzer shows you the minimum, maximum, and average score for each permutation along with an in-depth statistical analysis of all possible flip card results.

I've been playing this for years. No lag or performance issues. I like the analysis and options that can be enabled. The only minor complaints I have: - If you leave a game unfinished and return later (more than a couple hours), then it doesn't store your progress. - Selecting easy, standard, or pro doesn't appear to change the difficulty level. I win about 75% of the time no matter which level I choose.

I am juat learning how to play cribbage and this is a great way to practice. I like that it counts for you, and it will replay the count so you can see everything. At the end of the game it also shows you optimal plays --- you played this, but if you had played that you would have earned more points. I think this is a pretty neat practice tool. No ads either, even better

Most games I play for a while and then get bored and uninstall- but not this one. More than a year and still at it daily. It is realistic (haven't seen a 29 yet) but it has helped me get quicker with what cards to put in the crib. I do wish there was an option to call muggins, but the AI does count their scores perfectly all the time. No annoying ads- just cribbage. This is the one you want to have. update: still playing it 5 years later.

The features and options here are great, I've been able to get much better by studying the discard analyzer and practicing. This is a good tool for new and improving players in that way. But the difficulty levels and computer play are BS. It's fine as a learning tool, but once you start playing to try to win, the blatant unfairness even on "standard" difficulty is just frustrating. Even if you spend every game making nothing but optimal plays, you're still likely to lose more than half the time

I have played about 10 games in a row on pro level, and the game doesn't get "harder" as in having a more difficult hand... it's "harder" as in the bot getting absolutely crazy runs and a stacked hand every single round when you get nowhere near as many possible points. the bot got in one game 3 times in a row a 5, king, queen, jack. Even with the game analysis, it said I only blundered one or two points yet lost exponentially because the bot just always had 20+ point hands.

I've played this game 7,930 times over the years and still at 58%. Algebraically, the highest possible percentage for champion players is 66%. In tournament reality, champions run at 57%-60%. When I start winning a series of games, Cribbage Classic starts having flushes way beyond statistics during the same game. It also has huge hands in a row. The app scored 100 pts. to my 55 in hand scores in one game. I've never been trounced to that level. This game cheats beyond the pale!
