This used to be such a great news app and my primary source for keeping abreast of current affairs. However it seems more recently that it is becoming increasingly riddled with lengthy ads. Watching the news the ads seem to play out repeatedly between reels making the viewing process lengthy and annoying. It never used to be this way and I'm now using the app less and more frequently migrating back to BBC news. Good news coverage but the balance between news and ads needs to be much improved.

Constantly telling me when I try to open the app that I have no Internet connection when in fact I do have 1 which works fine for any other app/website access. Reinstalling, cache clearing, or force stoping doesn't fix the issue and others are having the same problem. The strange thing is that when this happens, the live section will load and work but nothing else so no top stories, videos, ect. Does same thing on data. Your CANNED email suggestion reply was useless, tips don't work.

Like many news apps, every article is death and destruction, or scandal and celebrity shaming. Where is the good news?? Also, the app contains too many ads and links to unrelated stuff, like puzzle apps?? What's that about? If Sky News creates a page JUST for good news - I'll reinstall the app. Otherwise, the news is just too depressing!

EDIT AGAIN. Over a month later and I still can't get any notification coming through for breaking news. EDIT. Now I can't get notifications at all despite uninstalling and reinstalling the app. The familiar sky news sound doesn't come through and alert me now. It's just vibrate. I've tried everything but can't seem to get the sound back.

Used to be a strong 5 stars until just a few months ago when all notifications stopped working. I thought it was something in my setup, but I couldn't find any problem... until I checked the comments here and discovered that I'm not the only one. When is this going to be fixed? you obviously know about it!

Does the job. Would change splash screen for dark mode. Provides all the current news affairs needed. Only slight gripe is that even in dark mode the sky news app always launches with a bright white splash screen. When I'm reading in bed, this wakes my wife so I have to use the BBC app instead. Also, hyperlink fonts are blue on a black background, so can't read.
