About this app
Cubeology is a 3D Match 2 cube matching puzzle game in which you select pairs of cubes with matching designs. When you match two cubes with the same design they are removed, and you continue to match 2 cubes at a time until all the cubes are gone, either for points or against the clock.
It has 6 different game variations, which can be played in either a cube layout or a sphere layout, with either free or fixed rotation, making for 18 game variations in total, from relaxed 'play at your own pace' to nail biting against the clock game types.
It has separate Google Play leader boards for each of the 6 different game types, plus a leader board of the top artifact bonus scores and has a rolling display of the weekly best time or score for each of the different game types. Competition is fierce to stay on top each week.
Colourful graphics, catchy soundtrack and addictive game play make this a fun puzzle game that you keep coming back to time after time.
Includes a zoom function to make it easier to play on smaller devices.
Artifact collection system.
Upon successful completion of games you have a chance to gain gold, artifact fragments or whole artifacts.
Collected artifacts are stored in your artifact compendium and give a bonus to your score when you match cubes with the same design as the artifact. The more your collection grows the greater the potential score bonus.
You can also collect gold and artifact fragments, which you can trade for any artifacts you are missing from your collection.
Some artifacts give a greater bonus score than others (but have a greater gold and fragments cost), and collecting multiples of the same artifact will further increase the bonus it gives.
Standard Game

Match 2 of the same design cubes until there are none left. Earn extra points by matching multiple pairs in quick succession. No time limit. Your score in this game can be increased by collecting artifacts.
Timed Game
----------------
Match 2 of the same design cubes until there are none left. Initially there is a 15 minute time limit in which to finish the cube. The time limit decreases by 5% every time you successfully complete a game, or it increases by 5% if you fail to complete the game in time.
Speed Cube
---------------
A fast paced game with a smaller 3x3 cube block and a 30 second time limit. How quickly can you clear the cubes, quick thinking and fast reactions will be required to top the leader board. Holder of the weekly best score is displayed on main menu.
Cube Builder

The idea of this game is different in that you start off with just a few cubes and more are added as time goes by. The rate that cubes are added increases as time passes and the game is over when the block is fully rebuilt. Your goal in this game is to keep the block from being completed as long as possible and in doing so earn as many points as you can. As in the standard game extra points are awarded if you match 2 cubes in quick succession. Your score in this game can be increased by collecting artifacts.
Picture Search

This is a memory version of the standard game, in which all the designs are hidden and are only revealed when you click on the cubes. If you match 2 cubes they are removed as usual, otherwise the pictures are hidden again. Your score in this game can be increased by collecting artifacts.
MatchIt!

With this version of the game you have to find and match 2 cubes that have the same design as shown at the left of the screen. You have a limited time to find them and if you run out of time you will lose 10% of your current score, and you will be presented with another design to find. You can use the PASS button at the top of the screen to skip any that you are struggling to find without losing any score, but you only have 5 passes.

I didn't realize there was an update for the game until this review had already been written. After I updated the app it works great and is back to the game I love to play! It's fun, interesting, & stimulates my brain as well. I would gladly give 5 stars but I keep noticing now that whenever I play nothing happens. No score is shown, no results with any rewards, I have to quit to play again. It's like a partial crash or something strange. When that is fixed I will change my rating.

"Love this game. Love how we can get coins to buy cubes that enhance our score. Only one problem I have noticed is on the game "match", sometimes the match showed isn't possible, due to lack of showing that one in the cube at that time. But I guess that's where the pass button comes I think. But great game to pass the time, lol, great bathroom break game for real!!"

it leaves Marjhon for dead. for me it is next level from marjhon. you have two choices ball or square. the ball is harder for me. i spend a lot of time looking for matches. there is the colour then their is the shape. an just to make it a little harder you got to count the parts on each shape. at first glance they look the same and when you look closer the count is out or the actual shape is ever so slightly different. a simple game yet not so simple to play. in all and extremely enjoyable

Love this game which is something I thought I would never say about any game. Everytime I finish one game I end up starting another one. I haven't tried anything but matching picture cubes and the match cubes to tear down the stack but hopefully will get to the others when I figure out the instructions. The instructions are not always clear on some. Once you get used to the two I play it's not as difficult. I'm not a big score person, just like to relax.

I am a newbie at this and only play the standard cube game and have never checked the high scores. I love how wildly colorful every cube is. It's like a changing work of art. It is challenging and interesting; never boring. I x out one ad at the bottom in the beginning because it is usually strobing and distracting but no complaints about ads as most other games. Excellent app.

Love this game and play it almost every day, but it has a glitch that has almost made me stop playing! If I play more than 2 or 3 rounds, it will randomly start over right in the middle or towards the end of a round and you lose your score! It happens every time eventually if you play enough rounds. Very irritating! Has anyone else had at this trouble?
