About this app

This app contains a set of tiny tools: a unit converter, a compass (magnetometer required), a bubble level, a calculator, a stop watch, a timer, a magnifying glass, a mirror (front camera required), a ruler and a flashlight (app and widget).

Essentially it’s like an "Army Knife" Android app.

Each tool does what it is supposed to do. There's no space for special effects like 3d compass, talking level, psychedelic flashlight etc: the goal is to have a lightweight, fast and easy to use set of tools, one "tap" away from your home screen.

This app is the size of a common "standalone tool" like a compass, a flashlight or a magnifying glass. This way you'll save a lot of disk space. You'll save network consumption too, not only for the first download but for every update too.
It doesn't require network access, the permission to write on your flash memory or the permission to read your contacts.
If you find a bug, please contact us using the "Report a bug" main menu function.

Note:

- Depending on the hardware capabilities of your smartphone, some tools may not be present

- The permission to use the camera is required in order to turn on the camera flash LED. Some smartphones (for instance the Google Nexus S) don't light the flash LED if the camera is not running. If you check the most popular flashlight apps, you'll find out that they all require this permission. Android Army Knife doesn't shot any photos, doesn't save multimedia info onto the flash card and doesn't send anything on the internet: it doesn't require the network permission at all.

- This app was first released on may 2011 and since then is free and without banners!.

Handy. Not sure if by design or a bug, but the alarm sound for the multiple timers does not go off unless the app is on top/ active. I.e. if you use your device for something else while you wait for the timer, it does not beep. I have tried a number of different settings, it just doesn't work. Got an error message today saying this app was developed for an older version of android and the app needs to be updated.

Lots of handy tools; flashlight, unit converter(how many centimeters in a mile, yep). A couple of the functions are a little silly, the ruler for instance. The levels work pretty well. You just have to take into account any curve in your case or protector. But for seeing if a picture is level, it works great. No annoying ads. Don't know what personal data they gather. Haven't noticed my battery draining faster since I installed the app. It does burn through a charge pretty quick using the flashlight function.

Straightforward, simple, useful little app that bundles together several utilities that I use regularly. I've been using it for several years now, and the only glitch I've found is that the flashlight doesn't work on my new Samsung S10e. Not sure what the problem is - may be a Samsung thing, because their pre-installed flashlight works fine. Thanks for the years of reliability, devs!

Been looking for a multiple timer. Just wish that I could label them individually and that they can be set to repeat (along with the #of times, manually/automatically). Also, wished the ruler would be for more than a few inches, like if I move it from a starting point, it continues. The flashlight should be for the screen too. The mirror should have snapshot capabilities. Otherwise, really awesome.

App has always been a fave of mine. It's great, works as advertised, small, perfect. Had worked on several phones without issues..then got bored and hit the app store to find something different new and exciting ha ha ha ha! Tried a few different apps, most bulky & chock full o ads. Nothing came anywhere close to providing me with the tools that I need whatsoever... like the song goes, Don't Know What You Got Till It's Gone. I was worried when, for some reason, find my handy army knife app anymore. Yay I did find it again, got rid of the other apps & reinstalled handy army knife... thank you for this app, nice to see nice littlest design yet great function that doesn't eat up all of my phone... Sure I will sleep better tonight haha

This is a great collection of small utilities. Could I think of improvements ? Of course - every bit of software can be extended. Is it just fine as it is ? Yes. I use : the unit converter all the time, mirror - not so much, ruler - yes, calc, magnifier, compass - occasionally, bubble level, magnifier rarely. What I'd change.. custom unit conversions, change timer sound. Nice app. Thanks very much.
