Lights constantly disconnects but now I can't even open the app. i It just says "connected to wifi" and then does nothing. I've had lights turn off because the switch disconnected, and apparently, that means the light should shut off and then not be able to turn back on even with physically using the switch. If my house didn't come with wemo light switches in it, I'd be so much happier because I could have lights that function.

I've had nothing but trouble with the Belkin Wemo Light Switch and app. The devices constantly disconnect from the network, even when all other smart devices in my home are working perfectly. Reconnecting them is an exercise in frustration. To make matters worse, they refuse to link up with Google Home. Despite following every troubleshooting guide and even resetting the devices multiple times, integration never succeeds. I wouldn’t recommend Wemo as a dependable smart home solution.

This is honestly the worst app ever. They never give it any firmware updates either. Whenever I need to reestablish a smart plug, which is often due to this app and the hardware, the app just gets stuck on an endless attempting to connect screen. It will spin endlessly. Now my lamp doesn't work with Google assistant anymore. I ask Google to turn on the lamp and it says it's offline because of the Wemo app. They honestly don't care about us at all. I even changed my WiFi settings too.

Constantly disconnect from the network, logs you out, and then says your password is incorrect, ask to send you password, it will never arrive, try to create account with the same email it tells you it already exists. Switching to kasa wifi plugs are better, faster and cheaper, a 4 pack for $22. You're welcome.

Update 10/10/25: App stopped working a few days ago. It keeps on the first screen trying to connect indefinitely. I've tried to reinstall it, and it does not log in to the account nor create a new account. PLEASE FIX IT ! Looses Wi-Fi connection too easily. App kept notifying it needs to be updated and nothing happens when clicking to update. It seems that issue is somewhat better lately but it still happens. It used to work well with ALEXA but it no longer responds the commands as before.

Very disappointed. I've been using this app and Wemo devices since early 2016. They were once the top of the line in smart switches and plugs. Now Belkin announced that they are abandoning us by shutting down the app and all functionality in early 2026. I feel so betrayed and will never buy another Belkin product of any kind for as long as I live.
