With convenient access to your health plan details, you’re more informed when you need care. If you’re a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan member, you can:

-- See what services your plan covers

-- Check your HSA and FSA account for users that use our Health Equity partner
-- Pay your plan bill for users with non-employer coverage
-- Find doctors and hospitals in your network
-- Select and view your Primary Care Physician

The app supports most of our plans, but not all.
If you're one of these members, the app won’t work for you:

Identity
Google Play™ services needs this in order to send you push notifications. BCBSM won’t use anything related to your identity that isn’t associated with your account with us.
Wi-Fi connection
This access allows the BCBSM app to check for an active internet connection, which allows the app to function correctly.
Photos and other media
We use this access to deliver PDFs to you and to display your virtual ID card. BCBSM will not access or use your pictures or saved files for any other reason.

When I've tried to open the app over the last few weeks, I've just been getting a spinning circle for ages until it times out. My phone is updated to date, I've uninstalled/reinstalled the app, restarted the phone, cleared cache/data with no success. Now it's a continuous "unexpected technical error". The app was great back when it worked, even if the physician finder feature wasn't updated.

Design: 4 stars; Execution: 0 stars. App looks good but is prohibitively slow and unreliable. I can execute the same actions from my phone's web browser in about 1/10 the time as the app. Point in case: using mobile website I was able to log in, add a payment method and then pay my bill & print a receipt BEFORE this app was able to log in to my account. Same phone, same connection.

This App was easy to use to get the information I needed without sitting on the phone with a live person. It was easy for me to go from one area to another for viewing and/or updating my personal information which saved me lots of time. And if I needed to speak to a live person, I had that option as well.

It seems the basic questions are often unanswerable in this app. when using the chat, it almost always refers you back to a page in the app or calling your company's representative. if I had found the answers in the app, I would not have to contact customer service.
