The second step is even easier. Take a break. Your lesson is never more than 9 minutes long and here is why: Your brain needs a rest to store the new information. And while you’re busy with your life, Japanese words and sentences get anchored in your long-term memory.
The result: You find yourself effortlessly knowing what to say and when. Don’t worry about the exact timing. Mondly by Pearson gives you control over the entire process. You receive friendly reminders exactly when your brain is set for the next dose of knowledge.
The third step is all about you. Because now you’re ready to create your own phrases and adding your individual touch and personality back into the conversation. And when you want to practice, Mondly’s interactive chat-bot becomes your pocket tutor.
There are over 40 practical, real-life situations which take you to the restaurant, shopping, exploring the city and many more.

I enjoy this app, been using it for many years. can pick it up whenever I am ready and learn at my own pace. Not only have I been learning Japanese for 100's of hours, but I can also study any language where I might want to use wherever I travel. It gives you agm good, varied and effective way to be able to speak and understand another language. Even allowing you to learn in the language's own symbol systems, if you want to do that, too! I upgraded to premium and it has been well worth it!

I have a major issue. Why is the only choice: romaji or kanji? Why not kana? With only kanji, I don't have the chance to know how to pronounce the kanji. And anyone that knows anything about learning Japanese knows that romaji should be abandoned immediately. The function of the app seems to be good, but I will need to continue with the trial for a little longer. Edit: You lose another star because even though notifications are turned off in app, you still send pop notifications.

Interesting app. I don't like the lesson structure. It seems to jump all over the place. There are a few simple lessons for beginners, then when you go to do speaking lessons, they teach things that were never discussed or taught. I wish there was a more gradual progression with the language for true beginners. Also, it doesn't go over katakana, hiragana, or Kanji but expects you to translate the sentences. Or, you can switch to romanji but that is never recommended by Japanese.

well, I think the development of this app could be worse, but also way better. I go from simple imagery matching to conjugated sentences without an introduction of any kind. the idea of trial and error is definitely visible here, but error over and over again does not help learning a language when you first start. I have experience learning languages as I have learned Chinese and Spanish. I self taught myself Chinese, and had a teacher for Spanish and neither was trial and error so constant.

I love that they take something so complicated and they split it up into manageable chunks to allow you to get your head around it. Makes it a little simpler. It has many options when it comes to answering quizzes. You can use kanji, you can have it shown in romanji or if you think you know how to say it you can do it that way which really let's you practice speaking it.

I think this will actually work for me. I've tried so many apps in the past, but this is about putting sentences together and becoming fluent. The conjugation goes right alongside phrases and vocabulary building. Conjugation and sentence structure is what is usually lacking on apps, but this is great. I'll be upgrading to premium soon. I wonder what helpful tools there are. Good job, team! Thanks. I'll write my next review in japanese lol!
