We booked this hotel with a confirmed check-in at 2:00 AM, but when we arrived late at night, in the rain, the front desk told us the hotel was fully overbooked. The receptionist didn’t understand English, making it even harder. We immediatly contacted.Agoda customer service for help, but instead of giving us a solution, they kept saying they were busy and would call back. No one ever called us. At 2 AM, in a foreign country. This was one of the most unprofessional and disappointing experiences.

Be careful with hidden charges, especially when choosing pay later. When you choose to pay later, Agoda often applies its own currency conversion rate at the time of payment. This rate is usually much higher than the standard exchange rate, meaning the final amount charged to your card can be significantly more than the price originally quoted at booking. Juding by other reviews, these sharp practices are not uncommon on Agoda. Thankfully, I realised and cancelled the booking.

Avoid this app. worse than expected.At first,even though the app was laggy, as long as I can place an order,I didn't mind and just kept using it out of habit. Later I found out that other platforms were cheaper but I still let that slide. What really pushed me over the edge was when I had an issue and needed customer service. The in-app support was just AI replies with no way to reach a human. Calling the hotline meant waiting around 20 minutes. Even the email response I got was clearly AI...

15 yr user here with slightly over 1k nights booked. Used to be good. Not anymore. It is easier to gouge your eyes off than it is to reach their CS. Properties with "Request to Book" are almost always overbooked, charged upfront & then cancelled on the day of arrival with refunds taking up to 2 months. Cashback is kinda sus as the some of the supposed Cashback disappears on the day it is due. Use them to gauge prices then offer the property to pay that direct. You're welcome.

I had the misfortune of booking a hotel on this app. Upon arrival the receptionist told me that the room was "not available" due to "overbooking". I immediately reported the issue to Agoda customer service. Their employee said he would call the property within 15 minutes. The receptionist and I waited for his call but no call came. When they finally called, I asked why that hotel is even allowed to advertise on Agoda, to which they didn't give a reply. And they are still advertising that hotel!

I had a terrible experience with Agoda. I booked and paid in advance for 6 nights at a hostel through their platform, but when I arrived, the hostel owner refused to let me in, saying Agoda never transferred them the payment. I was left stranded on the first day of my international trip, completely helpless. I immediately tried contacting Agoda’s helpline, but got no response at all. I also sent multiple emails, yet there was no proper reply or support. It feels like I’ve been scammed
